View Full Version : apricot fruitwood how do you cut and dry for wood working

Just wondering if someone could help me with this topic.Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Keny, I would be trying to cut the timber into suitable sizes, length 1/3 longer than the diameter.

Also you can cut the pieces in half down the length if you want.
Then either sealing it with paint, wax or sealer.

Whatever you do DONT try and green turn apricot.. I did that once and lost the piece.

Do i seal the entire cut surface including the top and both ends. Is air drying in my garage ok.How would i cut it into slabs as it is nearly 400mm in diameter some of it.

Just seal the end grains. As for slabbing, try your local wood work group, they may have a small slabber available.
