Hi all,

I know the spindle size on the 1624-44 is 1 1/4 x 8tpi.
Could anyone tell me if the thread size where the hand wheel goes is the same?
I would like to buy a bolt to make my own handwheel.

thanks in advance

GC

Hi GC,
If those Nos. belong to the Nova Technatool Lathe, then you must have a different one.
Most of those Lathes were 1in.x 10 Teeth Per Inch. BSF.
I'm sorry, but I don't know of the Tail Sock Spindle.
Could I ask, why you want to know that for.
Regards,

Hi again GC,
I've just had a look at that Lathe, & YOU are right, it is 1 1/4in x 8TPI.
I wasn't aware they had changed, my mistake.

The thread for the handwheel is not the same and is also left hand thread.

The easiest way is to use the existing handwheel which has 4 holes in it for this purpose and atatch a 30mm peice of MDF and make a hand wheel that way.

It will not be too large as you have to allow for the motor coming forward to change the belt speed.
