Yes Pat, you can spend 41/2 grand in a blink of an eye.
But spending it on a new lathe is a good investment.
Congrats, and have turning fun!!

Just spoke to Graham from Woodfast, confirming the order . . . I had to add another faceplate on didn't I:;

They are test it today, so I may have it sooner than later . . . I will have to get the shed finished.

Graham told me that they are moving to larger premises on Tuesday, so I volunteered to take any stock that they did not want to move, like a midi lathe or combo Jointer/thicky:U

Testing it :rolleyes: wonder what they are turning 40" or pens:q

Midi lathe for pens eh Pat :; and 500mm jointer/thicky would be an advantage

I have a C1000X and am happy with it. Quite like the yellow, too.

You'd better buy one of those bright orange fluoro vests so when you get lost in the curlies they look for you and not the lathe :D

happy buying you lucky ... fella :2tsup:

I'd volunteer to test it for you but I don't get enough time on my own lathe :doh:
