new motor for mc900

has anyone got any idea of how much a new motor for a mc900 (sherwood) would cost , and where to get one ,the old guy down the road has a lathe that the motor is that shagged that he has to spin by hand to get it going i took the belt off and you could stall the motor with one finger holding the shaft, thankyou............bob

Have you tried replacing the capacitor?
