Eccentric Chuck

Finally got around to finishing the eccentric chuck I started many moons ago.

It's to a design by J.A.Batchelor in Model Engineer, May 1991. All pretty straight forward apart from the fact that I must have had a senior moment when I drilled the index plate with 101 holes (should be 96) but then I never was very good at sums...
Here are the first couple of goes at playing with it. Two sets of turner's steps in boxwood, largest is about 2" high, I used a home-made flycutter in a horizontal drilling spindle.

Like the chuck well done inspirational work produced I take it finish is straight off the tool :2tsup::2tsup:

Got to go do a search for the plans :U

Have a Merry Christmas Mark hope being snowed in isn't slowing progress, but allowing time to create o paper in the mind or in the shed.

Masoth - No sanding, straight off the tool as Wheelinround suggested.

made from 5/32" silver steel, filed to shape & hardened right out.

Wheelin - No trouble with snow here but the ungritted roads & pavements are lethal with ice. Not too bothered, means I can stay in the w/shop, I shall venture out on Friday to cook Christmas dinner for the family and open presents (I asked Father Christmas for some African Blackwood so fingers crossed).
BTW if you have any trouble digging out the e/chuck plans I can easily scan them.
