For those who turn their own handles, has any one used Sellwax etc to finnish them and if so how did it work out

I use it for my marking knife and awl handles and recommend it

Sellwax??? Or do you mean Shellawax?

If so, yes it's fine.

Some people make them a work of art, which is fair enough. For me, tool handles are functional items, usually finished with candle wax.

Thanks for the replies, I have to admit most of mine don't get a finish. I am turning up some handles for friends Dads 60th and he wants them to look a bit special. Yes I did mean Shellawax, I was on the phone at the time, when I'm typing with two fingers it is bad enough with one finger while holding the phone to my ear it is even worse
