Morning all,

Any suggestions as to which glue is best suited to kitchen bench top making. I plan to join 130 x 19 Jarrah T&G flooring (re-milled from old jarrah beams) in to a bench top. I usually use Triton wood glue (yellowish PVA) for most work, and will probably use it in this case, unless someone identifies problems with this, and points me in another direction. Like Titebond III or something. I have not used Titebond I II or II ever.

There is a product called Semparoc 12 nv Its perfect for Kitchen Benches as it is waterproof and perfect for Jarrah as it doesn't let the timber creep. Caution avoid contact with your hands. It stays with you for a week.

Anthony,

Go with the Titebond III, It can be used on things which will be used for food prep.(eg cutting boards etc.) and is no more difficult to use than the PVA you are used to.

I've used AV201, waterproof and will hold Jarrah (many glues do not hold jarrah well)
a link to their glue selection chart (http://www.avsyntec.com.au/Adh/schart.pdf) so you can check it out for yourself.
I've spoken to the company sales people with questions before and they are very helpful with advise and even ring up professionals that they supply to ask questions they don't know the answer to.
