Guys, What is the best type of glue to stick foam rubber to itself? I am referring to the type you would find in a chair.

sprayable / brushable contact cement does the job very well.

I used to do fit outs for equipment cases.. that involved complex build ups in various foams....works very well.

best to put the two pieces together with the adhesive just a little green..still a little tacky....lign it up straight... you wont get a second chance.

If you are shaping the pieces... often best to glue up the cut to final shape....big carving knife with an edge fresh of the grinder works well...so does a band saw.

Hey Tools,

Soundman has the answer, the trimmers at work use drums of spray contact to glue everything that is foam or vinyl.

yes. Contact adhesive works best. Electric carving knife is good for cutting complex shapes.

I find the spray on contact adhesive easiest to use and effective.
