I have some pictures of my second bowl. My first bowl is still in progress so this is sort of my first competed one. Timber is Ash and was bought from Jim Carrols at Drysdale. I used expansion chucking to hold the blank, it was my first time using a scroll chuck and I absolutely loved it.

There are a few issues with it and some cracks in the base and sides but I'm still happy with it. Sanded to 400 grit and finished with hard burnishing oil.

Lovely shape and figure. You are on your way, welcome to the addiction.

With more hours or days in front of the lathe you will overcome the issues.

excellent stuphph. I like that for its simplicity and the wonderful grain.:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

Not bad for your second effort...a bit of tearout in the endgrain, but with some more experience you'll learn to deal with that.:2tsup:
