Finished today a segmented oak bowl.
Diameter 310mm, still in his natural color.
This bowl is made for the parents of my son-in-law.
The segmented bowl is made from an oak table which had belongs to a recently passed away mother of my son-in-law's mother.
So as a memory of her mother.

Cheers, Ad

Oak is such a nice timber to work isn't it Ad ............like the sentiment behind the bowl also.

I was starting to wonder if you had gone on another extended holiday maybe to Australia :p

you know, these a days turners living along the oil spill affected areas are in the aces for finishing thier products. Just tie a batch of bowls at the stern and throw 'em overboard...a ten minute run around should give the pieces a nice oil finish...batch finishing - gotta' love it!
