Does anyone know how to put a crown seal opener, from Carrolls, together. Seems like a square peg to go into a round hole. Thanks, Clarky

It pretty much is a square peg in a round hole! :U

If you have a drill-press and a good vice, then you can try drilling two holes side by side and cleaning out the timber between them to create the slot.

Or drilling a hole of the diameter of the widest part of the tang and bedding the whole thing into epoxy.

(For similar situations with home-made knives I've drilled a slightly oversized hole, heated up the tang and pressed it into the hole so it "burns in" the shoulders. But somehow I don't think this would be the best method in this case. :; )

From what I can see it looks similar to a cheese knife. So turn a handle for the opener and drill a hole in its end 1 size smaller than the width of the tang of the opener; ie if the tang is 1/4" then drill a hole 15/32". Put some epoxy glue into the hole, position the ferrule in place and then tap the opener into the hole.
