I have not seen any comments about this model on any of the English Speaking forums so I thought I would introduce it to you.

This is the Manufacturer site: Lignotec EN (http://www.lignolathe.com/en/index.htm)

This is the Copy Attachment mounted on their sliding compound carriage:

Look at the design of the indexing system:

Sliding carriage they call the 'Combi Carriage'

Look at the pictures on the site of the fluting, spiral routing, and more which are simply amazing. It makes me wonder how so many of the veteran turners get so exited over simple bowls and vases when turning like this is available to them.

The price is insane but I would really like to buy this lathe, the design options are endless, many neat ideas when it comes to ornamental turnings, honestly I can't believe more companies have not headed in this direction, I feel like the modern lathe industry has gone nowhere if not backwards in design, even some old Wadkin lathes from England came with a sliding carriage and removable bed section for larger
turnings. And the Stubby seems to be another with some originality.

I am hoping someone has seen this in person before.

EDIT: I tried to post pictures the same 2 ways I do on every other board I have been on but it doesn't seem to work. I looked at the "Adding A Pic" thread but it seems to be more chatter than answers. If anyone can point be in the right direction.....

That could be because they , like me , feel that sometimes too much embellishment or indeed any embellishment , detracts from the natural beauty that is in the grain figure of the wood .
Much as I appreciate the technical skills that go in to ornamental turning , and painted turnings also , some of the work could have just as easily been done with an artificial material and most folks would have been none the wiser.

@bobsreturn2003 I did check prices and for the Lathe itself it is 6,425 Euro for the cast iron model and they make a steel model for 5,237 Euro (Still Cast Head & Tailstock)
Expensive but the add on accessories are great looking.

@DJ's Timber- Thanks for the Link but I read that one too, the problem was that was trying to get the pictures to show in the post without an attachment, usually you just go to imageshack, upload image, copy forum link and post it. Does this forum not load pictures that way?

I take it you mean a full sized image when you say without an attachment which typically is a thumbnail, if so, then no you have to have both thumbnail and full size in post. Only way to do that through forum is to upload image to your Album which is found on your Public Profile by clicking on your own username and then insert image into post.

Offsite images can be shown here, in fact it is covered in the link I provided, second last paragraph covers it, but is not preferred here as some people don't maintain or close their account and when this happens, images are lost from posts/threads and it leaves a hole in posts/threads.

Thank you, I will try that if I ever want a embedded photo. Let me ask you this, did you have any trouble clicking the GIF links in the thread? Do you think members knew they were photos or is it better to use the attachment?

All the gif links are showing as images to me not links. Here is a partial screenshot.

Strangely I see your screenshot when I am not logged in but when I do I just see the .jpg code.

It must be something wrong with my PC, maybe I need to update something.

Certainly looks like a great lathe Phaded! Beautifully thought out and manufactured. I can see the possibilities for some original turning work.:2tsup:
