Guilio M was demonstrating on an S750 with a banner out front saying 'supported by Omega' blah blah. Hare and Forbes said to be distributing ... ?

Why do you ask GJ?

Hello,
I have been trying to find more information re Stubby as I am seriously looking at buying one vs Vicmarc 200\300 shortbed.
Actually got the chance to see a 750 in the flesh back in August and was very impressed.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

He's definitely still making lathes, got him to machine somthing for me recently. Think you'll find he just chose to pass on the show this year. Lots of folks, myself included, have become a little disillusioned about exhibiting at the Melbourne show, it's very costly, exhausting, takes massive preparation, and often you don't get back what you put in.

Doing one of the interstate shows is a different matter, brings a whole new crowd to your product.

Grant, look up Omega Engineering, Carrum Downs Vic in the phone book, or Google it - he had a website.

Hmm, a somewhat minimalist website, not so informative as the previous .In fact as far as web sites and manufacturers go. Stubby lathes are poorly represented, If you want to see the full range of models and specs its darn hard to find.:whatonearth:

Pathetic website!

They would be better off having no website at all and just depend on word of mouth... it would increase the mystique... only those in the know get to own one of these lathes...:U

Best online info available is from US (very strange):

Stubby Lathe USA Inc (http://www.stubbylatheusa.com/cgi-bin/index.py)
John Jordan (http://www.johnjordanwoodturning.com/John_Jordan_Woodturning/Stubby.html)

Though bear in mind the USers put their own electronics and motor on.

As does Vermec here I think; at least the electronics. Click (http://www.vermec.com/id19.html)

Thanks Ern and others,
That web site link is very handy, although as someone said, minimalist, as twelve months or so ago when I searched Omega Stubby I got everything but the lathe site.
Cheers
