I recently obtained a Craftsman 12 inch wood lathe. No books of instruction of any kind. The lathe was rusty, cleaned up nicely, and works well.

It has a cup and pin tailstock that I want to replace with a live bearing tailstock. My question how do you get the cup and pin out of the main tailstock? Is it threaded or just a snug taper fit? I want to know it can be removed before I purchase the new bearing tailstock.
