Having bought and made some more deep hollowing tools I thought I better try them out.:D So here is the result of my first effort at using the deep hollowing tools.

The vase is 200mm high and 125mm wide, sanded to 1000 then finished with EEE and Shellowax. The wood was a freebie offcut from a furniture manufacturer.

Quite a learning curve and I have to make some more jigs to hold the next one.:D

Actually all year I have been trying new things, twelve month ago I was still trying to make good honeydippers and just started making some spatulas.:D

Just had a quick look at your website Ad and I love your hollowing rig. I just used the deep hollowing tools that I made (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f8/sturdees-turning-tools-jigs-127580/) see posts 11- 13 and for the inside sanding I used the sanding tools as per post 2.

Peter, think I missed that completely, oh well, it's hard to see everything.
The most important thing is to use tools who give you the comfortable feeling.
You made a nice collection of very fine useful tools, a thought for myself !!!!

Thanks Ad, the next lot of tools on the list to make is two sets of mini hollowing tools similar to the Sorby mini hollowing tools using their cutters.
