My brother in law has put in for a book on marquetry for Christmas. He is skilled with wood and now wants to give marquetry a go.
Any suggestions please.
Also any bookshop who specialise in woodworking or have a good range.
thanks
John

If he is interested in 'Applied' marquetry, then you can't go past 'The Marquetry Course' by Metcalfe and Apps.

Pity he's not in Brizzy, you could shout him a weekend workshop.
However the book suggested is a very good guide with some good projects.

Cheers

Thanks Michael,
I think the book you refer to is A Marquetry Odyssey. I will look for this one as well.
Silas Kopf has a podcast which shows his work and techniques at
Furnitology Productions: Silas Kopf ........a day in marquetry (http://furnitology.blogspot.com/2008/11/silas-kopf-day-in-marquetry.html)
Well worth a look.
cheers
