Thanks , a good link especially for those just picking up the chisels.
I've never heard of initially mounting the blank by squeezing it between the chuck and tailstock! :oo:

I need all the help I can get. There is no tuition schools up here or clubs. I have been trying to learn from DVD's but it's not the same as having a tutor to actually show and watch you.

Thanks, I have never seen that technique for holding between centres, must try it. I liked the use of the carving chisel as a parting tool.
