A leftover from the mid-week turners' day.

Half a log. Diam. 48cm, length 56cm.

End grain sealed; has nonetheless dried out a bit over the last few months as it should and is good turning.

I'd hate to see it go to waste. Can't lift it myself, and as the weather warms up it'll start to degrade badly.

Pref. given to those who didn't get take-aways from the mid-week turners' day.

5-10 mins from the Ring Road, in Reservoir.

Mod: pls don't move this to Marketplace - Free. Don't think many turners look there.

G`day Ern I would take but getting it is a pain and I don`t think my woodfast would cope with the weight.

Good on you Ern for giving the 1/2 log away:2tsup:Nonno! has the "VB 72" to spin it on! So dubbed cos that's how much it cost. 72 VBs! :D Big ol' pattern makers lathe that now has a variable speed motor on it! This will give it something to warm up on!

TL has dibs on the Elm.

Should be a hoot.

Prob have to cut it to shape for the sylph to lift it.

Well the sylph brought a trolley so it was just a heft into the wagon back.

Not too hard.

Seems the moisture can leak through the end-grain sealer cos the lump was clearly lighter outbound cp inbound about 4-5 months ago.

Bonus take-away was a half log of Black Wattle; down about 12 months now.
