Just noticed there's a Woodfast M400 S lathe on ebay at the moment in Sydney Looks pretty basic and is 415v but if it goes at the the right price , a bit of work could leave someone with a good lathe . Current bid is $5.50 and 3 days to go .
I'de link to it if I knew how but I'me sure you'le find it if your'e interested.

Now if you could all stop bidding on it I might get it for a reasonable price!

The second lathe has no banjo. Can one get a replacement banjo?

Also if you were going to change these over to 240 VS what would be an upper price limit?

Also if you were going to change these over to 240 VS what would be an upper price limit?I would fit this:CWS Store - Variable Speed Motor | Carroll's Woodcraft Supplies (http://www.cws.au.com/shop/category/-variable-speed-motor) We have 2 lathes fitted with them and I have trouble stopping them unlike some other EVS units.

The only problem may be the pulley bore but a competent machine shop can fix that.

Or some one from the Metalwork Forum.

making a banjo is not a major problem, quite simple really if you have a welder.

Try woodfast themselves for a banjo.
