One is made from black wattle and the other I think is She oak. The oil burners I bought from Timberbits finished with EEE and shellawax.

Thanks for looking:)

I like them :2tsup:

I've made a set or two - very quick, and nice presents. The biggest trick is to keep the wick *very* low or they smoke...a lot... :oo:

Dave

Look good well done:2tsup:

I have not had good experince with this type of burner :~ Canot get them to burn properly end up just burning the wick away and filling the room with smoke and using up a box of matches.:o

Yhey only require a small amount of wick to be sticking out of the burner, if too much then you get the result above.

Good oil helps too - I have sourced a great oil that I sell in the Gallery for the hand blown glass candles we sell.
Happy to supply anyone who may need some.
Cheers

I find that having the top of the wick about level witht he top of the glass is about right (1-2mm sticking above at most). Bit of a pain to light that way, but it's the only way I've managed to get a nice flame without the smoke.

Cheers,
Dave
