Not sure what king of wood it was but I turned it into a little 15cm bowl at about 4cm depth, this was the bowl I was finishing when my lathe crapped itself.

If you were her in the UK I'd suggest the wood was laburnum. Whatever it is it's remarkably similar.

I really dont know what it was but it came in that stash Ray:U... and heres that other little supposed bowl I was making today...it turned out to be a sexy insence holder with 5 slots and some how beads and things got attached to it :innocent: I dont know how it happened but so much for a little bowl.

Thank you for your appreciation of my work:) though I did start another one and well I lost it on the lathe finished the whole bottom part and OOPS it snapped and jumped off the lathe, so in the morning will remount it with a wood screw and re turn the bottom and maybe be wiser about it and make it a 5mm lip huh?:doh:
