don't know how long it would last with vibration , It would be stable with it's weight,.

concerns about bed being parallel to centers ( concrete shrinks as it dries)

Hi
after spending the best part of forty years
with concrete, formwork ,and steelfixing,
i can see possibilities in building a very large machine be lathe or
something else with very small ammount of steel,
after the maine strutture is done in reinforced concrete,
the rest of the sufisticated equipment can be bolted to it,
and it wont muve or crack.
Cheers Ralph.

Building a Lathe in concrete, if it does not work out then you can always use it as a anchor to more ones boat.:D

Some of you mention using it as an anchor, I do know boats have been made out of concrete.
