Hare & Forbes 18 x 47 lathe

I have heard that a few of the turners here have come up with a way to attach a hand wheel to this lathe but have been unable to find the threads applicable to this project. Can someone please help me with this. Also have you figured out a way to adapt a vacuum port to the hand-wheel?

I plan on purchasing a Grizzly model of this lathe the G0733 it doesn't have a hand-wheel either.
