Does anyone know who this woodturner from Hobart is?

Few years ago I had some correspondence with a semi-pro turner based near Hobart who did biggish faceplate work for galleries and Salamanca Place shops. Can try and dig it out. Email me.

Looks like a fellow from south of Hobart. He called himself "The Deepings Woodturner".
He turned a lot of chess pieces that were then brilliantly painted by a female artist.

Thanks chaps. I've sent an email to Deepings to see what they think (Adrian Hunt sold the business in 2004). The pic was prolly taken 10 or more years ago. It was taken by a mate of mine, who was working for a magazine stable at the time.

Having worked for similar crowds myself, I can say that just like horse stables, they are full of horseshight.

Confirmed by the new owner of Deepings Dolls:
"That is indeed Adrian Hunt, whose "Deepings" woodturning studio used to be open to the public at Nicholls Rivulet in the Huon Valley."

I've stood in that same spot & turned under his tuition, can't remember if it was the same lathe 'cos it was more than 12 years ago.

Points were deducted for not knowing his name & calling his dolls chess pieces. :D

Isn't the idea to learn something, instead of practicing dancing?

It must have been that lathe because it was the original in that shed. I lived round the corner in Lower Wattle Grove.
