Fantastic finish as always cornucopia.

Proving once again that to a turner there is no such thing a a bit of wood 'Too Small' to make something.:2tsup:

Like the lignum vitae one very much. That is not to say the other is not. Just prefer that one.

i really like these and have been inspired to do my own small box out of a piece of redgum burl. I am having trouble hollowing out inside though as its too tight to manoeuvre. If you can give some tips on how you hollow out would be great, like what tools and perhaps a photo of the inside of yours.
cheers
Alex

Beautiful work and I can't beleive their sizes. I'd like to hear how you did the lids with different color wood. BTW, I love the finishes on them.

thank you for your comments

unfortunately Alex the box is now sold so I can’t get any pictures- I hollowed the inside with a small homemade hollowing tool similar to David Ellsworths single cutting tip style

Phillywood- I simply cut a ring then cut a groove to match it and glued it in.

no worries Cornucopia thanks for the reply anyway. I may experiment with a bit see how it goes. I don't have any small small tools will have to investigate further at least it gives me an idea of what needed to get it done.
thanks

take-your-breath-away gorgeous

Love Lignum Vitae - proof wood is the world's most versatile material, if ship's bearings are anything to go by
