I'm not a woody, I'm on the other side, the metalwork side, and no snide remarks.

My daughter is looking for someone in Melbourne's northern suburbs, who would like to do a bit of contract wood turning.

Nothing special with the wood, as they will be painted.

Each knob is also to be fitted with a wood screw in the back so they can be screwed into a wall etc. The knobs are for hanging coats on.

They are approx 60mm in dia x 60mm long.

If you are interested, I'll hand your details over to my daughter, and she's gorgeous and married.

Hi Ken,

I was interested until I found your daughter was married. :D

Nevertheless I am sure this would be easy to do. How many
knobs are you talking about.

I am with Northern Woodturners, not far from you, and feel
sure we can accommodate your request.

PM me with details and I will follow it up for you.

Hi Neks,

I've made thousands of knobs over the years. I think the proposed length is far too short and the diameter of the outboard end too big for the proposed length. I'd suggest she goes for the traditional shaker style. About 100mm offset from the wall or the support board with a head diameter of about 40mm and a somewhat upwards inclined angle to better grip the coats.

There are stacks of designs available in the catalogues of the antique hardware folk. Have a surf!

Cheers Old Pete
