Rake making. Wait for the wooden chuck.

I just love line shafting.

Very cool :2tsup: but a shame it's gone - I'd have made a point of stopping for a look when I get over there :C

The old shearing shds hve some wonderful line shafting, but I think the best I have ever seen pesonally is in Maitland, N.S.W.. The beekeeping suppliers there had a ripper system.

Maybe the last Rake Making workshop has closed but I can assure you that we still have Rake Makers.

During the Summer there are all sorts of events that have some Country Craft demonstrations in them.

Probably one of the biggest is the Festival of the Tree (Treefest (http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/INFD-6XCLUX)) at the UK's National Arboretum at Westonbirt. So TTIT if you're going to visit I recommend th August Bank Holiday so you can take it in.

I remember Dad running the line with a broad belt from the old Case tractor when the electricity was down (sort of a regularity). Didn't want the shearers sitting around causing trouble
