Spalted birch, and cherry. Sanded to 400# and Wiped with Rustins Danish Oil.

I think it frames the grain of the wood and gives the eyes something to hang on to. These ogee forms seen from above the eye has nothing to hold on to. I'm sure I have seen a similar thing before though. There is nothing new under the sun.

On our side board maybe?:D:U I knew I'd seen it somewhere. :doh: In the house though? :hmm: Not sure. Anyway have seen similar things in pottery too. :cool: Was going for the feeling of stacked bowls.

I would have filled that broken eye with resin and sanded to 1200 though :rolleyes:. Although the hole would make a good chopsticks holder :U
