On request of my daughter-in-law Margreet a birch bowl DxH 240x130 mm.
And for the fun an birch oval bowl axis 200x165 mm H75 mm

I admire your Birch turnings will have to try get some here and give a piece a go. Whats it like to turn?
Ray, it's not hardwood ofcourse, nice wood for lamp shades, as you know my favorite turnings.
The problem with birch, don't let it dry out to much, put a rough turning only for a few weeks in a paper bag.
The best is turning it wet.

Both are nice. A wire burn in the grooves might look good. Is the oval bowl shallow or is that a photo illusion?
I work with dry birch a lot and like it.
