WOW!!!!!!!! What a stunning piece of.....its got to be art. I envy people like yourself who see a "lump of wood" and can turn it into something special.
To expose the natural grain structure has made the job just stunning. Top marks

really nice job is it hollowed out ? and if so which
tools do you use on a hollow form that small?

thank you for all of your kind comments

Kcam- the wood and resin are cast together as a solid block and then turned as normal.

smiife:yes its hollow- i used some home made ellsworth style tools. The finish is 3 stages of buffing wheel and compounds followed by a few coats of MC wax.

Not much else for left to say, it has all been said!
I normally hate a high gloss finish, but your finish is stunning. Love the heart wood

So, how did you get the Coolibah way over there, George? I'm imagining that the resin is no harder to turn than the timber?

Hardenfast: lol someone must have snook out with some when it was dark!! :U all i can say is it must have been a big bird as this stuff aint light
the resin isnt harder to turn but not the same as timber- I use allot of neg rake techniques.
