So will turps.I just zap it in the microwave checking every 30 sec.Max time is about 90secs.Depends on the size of the piece. Don't leave it longer than necessary or it may start to smoulder then clean off the residue while it is still soft , first with a flat chisel then turps.

last year at the prossy turnout ken wraight told me he uses acetone , tried and tested by myself as well it works well :2tsup:

top stuff, all good tips, i'll definatly use it a lot more now, i was scared of the day when my turnings might contain a nail and secretly blowing up the wifes microwave (only method i knew of). consider me helped for 1 and i guess the missus too by default (lol).

Brilliant solution (all of them) but I'd better make sure it's not the bottle I mixed with Orange Juice!

Wow, not only is this a good tip, but I now know I need to be careful using alcohol to clean oil off the wood if I glued the wood down with hot melt!

Use light tan and it looks like scotch:2tsup:, dark brown like rum:2tsup:...:oo::oo::oo::oo::D
