The burl was a bit flat so I ended up with something like a ships decanter. The stopper is Gidgee part of recent haul from Vern [ aka TTIT]
stands 6" high and is 6" dia finished with DO and Wipe-on-Poly. The grain and colour are very rich and detailed. But not so easy to bring out in a photo, maybe I should finish my light box :U

Its hollow, wall thickness on the upper is about 5mm, lower or bottom is slightly thicker.

Hi Hughie love the decanter its awesome.:2tsup:
I was wondering what tools you used to turn the mallee and how often did you have to sharpen them because I have some mallee and Im putting it of because I cant sharpen my tools regularly no grinder at home.
Cheers Skewturn.

Hi Hughie,
Boy, you didn't waste any time getting stuck in after your trip north to TTiT's. What a great job, fantastic lines and beautiful finish - up to your usual standard. I'm slowly!!! coming 'round to the idea of the WOP as I've been strictly oil and/or wax before. It does look good.
Cheer,
Paul.
