First lidded box I've made, it measures 4" x 2 1/2" , pleased as punch. Not sure if the camphor laurel knob on top is right for it or in proportion.

You're right to be pleased with the box, It's a Beauty, I'm not sure about the knob.

Cheers Tony.:)

i like it, beautiful wood. to knob could be a tad smaller and more rounded... but that's just my opinion...

The grain of the wood is stunning. I also agree that the knob is not quite right. Maybe if it was much more waisted.

Knob could do with a thinner waist.

Agree with above , the box is great , the Knob needed to be finer , it's a bit stout.

But good first box , and the grain is beautiful.

Thanks for your valuable comments, that knob on top is going back to the lathe

Love the grain - absolutely stunning.

Can't wait to see the finished result with
the revamped knob.

Here's the modified knob, smaller, and daintier I think.

the smaller refined knob looks heaps better, i would have made the base of the knob smaller so it didn't cover the grain of the lid as much.:2tsup:

:2tsup:Great job for your first box and the design is now better balanced with the finer knob. Suggest that you use a bit more super glue or appropriate filler in the cracks in your future turnings....cheers Kerry
