I have never seen one of these before is it a dedicated copy lathe?

Can't help you with your query, but there is a problem with your signature.

As you can see you have somehow deleted or moved a picture in Photobucket and it now doesn't show. If or when you do fix that could you also arrange the 2 pictures side by side so that your signature doesn't take up quite as much screen real estate?

The lathe is very interesting too, a very quick search turned nothing up.

lots of good features, but sad he painted over the Vicmarc blue.

Anyone know any history ? Phil

It could have been set up for pattern making in a metal casting plant.

In the US Oliver made some good sized lathes for that purpose.

You could try contacting vicmarc for details. I had no idea they'd made a lathe with a carriage. I have one on my lathe and use it all the time. I can be very handy depending on what work you're doing.

This is one of the original Vicmarc lathes, there is one here in Townsville, and the chain drive can be a help or a nuisance, depending on your point of view,
