I'm quite keen on shellawax now and have another square bowl to finish. Obviously I cant finish the edges that way. CAn it be hand buffed? If so, What is the best tool for buffing?
Thanks

A lambswool buff on a drill at high speed will do just fine. Very important is to get the heat up. The buff pad can be in a hand drill, pedestal drill, the lathe or whatever will spin it fast enough to burnish. Cotton buff , stitched or no, between centers on the lathe, at high speed, works fine too. Just make sure you hold on to your turned piece, otherwise the buff will pull it out of your grip and ....smash.......look ma, one buggered project.

You'd need to get onto the buffing quick before the solvent dries. Even then, you only get the shine through pressure/friction.

The Cream version might work better. Or try Danish Oil.

Sorry, It is the cream, better for bowls I was told.

The cotton buff pad on the lathe idea sounds good.
Off to do it tonight. hopefully.
Thanks

Can I use EEE over the Shellawax cream?

Believe so.

BTW I've used the small swansdown buff as well as lambswool pad - got better results with the pad. Seems easier to see what's happening - at the edge, like a sanding line.
