A good job.They're fun things to make. Did you turn it from a square blank or glue scrap wood on to make the blank round?

Nice, the feet look very sharp and even. The ones I've made tend to chip out on the edges and the feet usually end up rounded over.

A few answers :-
The Huon was a square blank of about 15 x 15 x 7 cm. It was a gift from Tasmania about 10 years ago. It was waxed all round so I scraped all the surface wax away last year.
As this was the first Sq Edge bowl for me it was quite daunting, definitely not effortless .
Yes, I had a few chips but a quick visit to the belt sander sorted that out, cheating ?
For sanding the wings I stopped the lathe & sanded by hand as I had been warned about rounding off the edges.
It now weighs 132 gms or 4.6ozs.
To be honest, if it wasn't for the experienced members of my club passing on valuable information & tips I probably wouldn't have even attempted it.
