Haven't made a box for a while so fired up the lathe and started on the lid. I used some spring calipers to ensure that the inside of the lid has parallel sides so that I can get the "suction" fit. My technique is to line up the scraper by eye with the bed of the lathe and scrape however the calipers kept indicating that the sides were not parallel, kept scraping a bit here and a bit there but couldn't get them perfectly parallel. How do others get the sides parallel? Is there a jig or some other aid which can be used to help?
