A few pics of a collaboration by my wife and I of a project by Liz and Neil Scobie in woodturning magazine. I only turned the bowl all the artistic work was by my wife.
The timber is Jelutong. It is decorated with acrylic paint in different colours, texture paste and metallic paints. The texturing was done using a home made stencil, a bought two dollar stencil from the cheap shop anda wooden skewer. The skewer was used in different ways, the point, the bluntend and on it’s side.

Quite a dramatic effect .
I watched a demo by Liz at the WWW show a couple of years ago . She gets some interesting effects.

Nice I like the finish, what is texture paste I keep seeing it on finished items works well

That is very striking, if it does not have a name I'd like to suggest 'The Dark of the Moon' - well, that's how it strikes me anyway.

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments. mkypenturner I can't post a pic of the bottom the bowl it was a present and we photographed it just prior to wrapping. The bottom is just natural timber. ian the past is JOHONJA'S TEXTURE PASTE we got it from Spotlight.
