I know I am opening myself up for a huge amount of abuse but I can't figure it out.

What are those things called that hang above a floating bench in the centre of a kitchen that you hang your larger cutlery and saucepans and the like from.

Be gentle

Pot hanger.
Many are ladderlike but some are made with heavy steel mesh.

Kris, I know what you call those thingamajigs, but how do you make a floating bench so that you can hang one above it? :D

Peter.

1) don't fix it to the floor.
2) seal all the openings with sikaflex
3)dam the door openings in kitchen
4)flood kitchen
5)watch it float

Mick, who's very happy now that his wife is on the mend! :)

Peter.
You hang it from the pothanger which hangs from the ceiling (or a skyhook). :)

Maybe I should have said Island bench but I thought against it as I knew I'd have people out there tell me coconut trees, the sun, etc...

I still can't agree with any of the above although pot hanger sounds good. It is some thing but I can't think of it right now.

Kris,

You mean one of these (below). It's called a "My Wife Told Me To Make It" but I prefer ROLY's suggestion of "Dust Collector" ;)
