Evening all
Approximately 13 months ago, A mate asked me to turn him a Jarrah Projectile to fit into an old 4.5 inch cartridge case. I forgot all about it until he reminded me, quire recently, so here is. I textured the driving band (Robert Sorby-Sprialling) to give it the appearance it had been fired and grooves imparted onto it by the rifling and the fuse area (Robert Sorby Texturing) to make it stand out.
Cheers

4.5 inch, now that is an old calibre, we only have them on Naval guns these days, not been used by the UK forces for a very long time.

Looking good though, especially the attention to detail in the driving band.

eh... the beasty I look after (https://www.google.co.uk/search?num=10&hl=en&newwindow=1&safe=off&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1318&bih=779&q=as90+self-propelled+gun&oq=AS90&gs_l=img.3.1.0l6j0i5j0i24j0i10i24j0i24.1049.1678.0.3636.4.4.0.0.0.0.171.534.0j4.4.0...0.0...1ac.1.DN51UTVfEuM)

Sorry mate, 4.5 is a modern calibre for mostly UK, if not Commonwealth vessels. We used to have the 4.5 inch Mod 6 double barrelled mounts on our old Destroyer Escorts. We now run 76mm (3 inch) and 127mm (5 inch). The Royal Navy still has 4.5, but in their newer Mod 8 single barrel weapons

Sincerely
Willy

PS I just clicked your link, Nice Beasty SPH AS 90, Hmmm, I like Guns
