fancy round box

hi guys ,
i saw a box in a persian rug shop and thought i would like to make something similar
that was about 6 months ago,i didn't take me that long to make, but i had a few mishaps
along the way:doh:this is the end result
grrr :~still trying to find the original photo i took at the shop and will post when i find it
i painted this box about 5 times and still could not get it to the right colour
i wanted, which was purple, so i figured i had spent enough time on it and gave up
i also have some WIP photos somewhere in this computer but cannot find them:B:B

thanks for the comments,firstly i have to apologise on how crap the photos are
i didn't realise how bad they were untill i looked today and enlarged them:no::o
i did not think about making an egg shape, maybe next time, the origanal box
was round,the timber i think was jacaranda [it was a long time ago when i started
it] will have another look for the better photos if i get time,thanks again for your comments
