drop spindles

I was asked to turn a drop spindle of a weight 38 to 42 grams so I jumped to it and the customer said they were the best he had been supplied with and ordered 20 ! I used European beech. they use them for spinning wool

They look good chuck

These are Top Whorl type usually used in the US where as many here use the Bottom Whorl (http://www.goldgryph.com/bells/spinning/fig5.gif) type basically the other way round with the hook on the longer part of the shaft.

Yep, their Drop Spindles alright. Always good practice doing batch turning.
