Nice dark cedar. How long did you store the block before you started work? Did you get the timber down on the range?

Lovely, great shape. But I have the same problem,so many aesthetically pleasing forms are unstable

enough to be unusable. I've had to widen the base on lots of my fruit bowls. Art maybe ?

hi guys,
thanks very much for your comments ,always appreciated:U

phil,it has a fair bit of weight in the bottom although cedar
is a very light timber,i think it is balanced enough not to fall over
well i hope so,and to be honest, i had not thought about it:no:

greg,
i think the cedar was about 10 years old and it came from Dorrigo
NSW,.the capital of cedar in years gone bye,a friend has some stored
in his parents house, some of it has been there for 30years:cool:

thanks again guys

A beautifully classic shape and such a wonderful colour for a softwood (at least to my eye's).
