Hi folks
I have been given a small block of Lignum Vitae to use in making a Crosspin and Wedge for a Block Plane I am making. I have never even seen let alone used Lignum Vitae before and I want to make sure I cut my 2 pieces out of the block correctly before turning the pin on the lathe and shaping the wedge on the bandsaw. Any advise on which way I should cut this timber so that I do not have them breaking when the plane is assembled and in use would be greatfully accepted.
