I am also rather pleased with this Sheoak Salad bowl (see Salmon Gum Burl), approximately 330mm x 90mm.

Nice work Willy. She oak is one of those timbers we often don't showcase as well as we could. I reckon it needs nice flowing curves to get the maximum impact from the grain, but your shape shows it off quite well.

Thanks for the comments.
As for the hardness, I find it quite soft and a pleasure to turn after turning Jarrah Burl all day, the shavings really fly off with a pleasing hiss (if that makes sense??)
