hi guys,
a while ago i asked for a timber I.D.,i think the consensus was river oak
this was a piece which was very wet and a bit spalted/rotten,
but i think it turned out O.K.
very unusual grain pattern and turned out to be a lot darker than
i thought it would be,!! size about 300mm x 100mm
finished was sanded to 800grit, D.O. ,EEE and glow
any comments and advice welcome

Nice bowl you found in that lump of timber. It is a nice shape with good proportions.
Makes you look at a bit of firewood a bit closer these days!

Enjoy your turning,

Alan...
