New York state cigarette tax is $4.35 a pack. Virginia is .30 a pack.

http://www.tobaccofreekids.org/research/factsheets/pdf/0097.pdf

It is 334 miles from Richmond, Virginia to New York City.

Occasionally a semi-trailer of cigarettes vanishes around here.

HMMM.

You don't find those logs in a forest,
they come from a Win field.

Had they enlisted the services of any of the members of this forum to hide the join on the end of the log they might have got away with it...:D

As for getting into that game, I can't imagine him letting go that number of cheap fags...

Now that the smoke has settled a bit, does anyone have any suggestions as to how they hollowed out such a long blank?
What special tools or machinery would have been used?
Not that I want to get into the smuggling game, just curious.

Ingenius.

While the bored it out, they could have turned them into giant spiffs. Art, sir!

Though, it goes some way to show how taxation destroys commerce. The government isn't restricting the sales, they are just collecting taxes. This has 100% to do with revenues and 0% on public safety.

NeilS is right, a member here would leave that end sweet and neat. Nothing to notice here officer!

If you supply the lathe, the muscle to get it onto the lathe, and the know-how, and I supply the enthusiasm, we can negotiate. 's expertise could be helpful, but might cost us a fortune in cups of tea:D

:oo:
Now if I was a pen turner I would be having night mares (and probably a few day stallions as well) thinking of all the wasted blanks when those were bored out.

We could start off with a batch of "pure forest air", and bottle it when it gets here, or fill it up with pen blanks or exotic timber logs. Could also bring in a batch of donut holes, the ones with no calories.

Need to think about it a bit more.
