At the weekend a large part of an allocasuarina blew down in our yard. I've sawn it into logs about 300mm long, dia varies from about 75mm up. From what I know of this timber, it has nice rays, but is pretty hard on tools. It's still wet.
If you'd like some or all of this, please PM me with your phone number and I'll give you a call.
I'm in Sydney's north-western suburbs, just off Pennant Hills Rd.

Hi Alex

My understanding of Allocas (via IanW) is that it can split almost overnight if it's not painted on the ends.

Cheers
Brett

Gone to its new home.

FF, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. It does move quite a bit even when dry, and can be splintery. The bloke who took it was going home to seal the ends straight away.
