ADMIN APPROVED

As most already know is heading north next week. normally drops in to us (Gold Coast Woodturners) on his way through. This visit we have decided to open our doors to forumites and other Clubs. We'll have several woodturning related demo's running through the day. To assist with catering it would be great if you can let me know if you are able to come. We hope to make it a most of day event providing an opportunity for Woodies to come meet, swap stories, and have some fun.

Date - Sunday 24th of November from 9am

Address: Gold Coast Woodturners, 238 Mudgeeraba Road, Mudgeeraba

So far the following demo's / hands on opportunities have been organised but I will update the post as further confirmations occur:

- Demos from (of course)
- 6ft deep hollowing bar (similar to Brian McEvoys design)

I look forward to seeing you there.

Cheers,
Todd

It certainly is shaping up to be a great day. So far the line up is:

- doing demo's of course
- teaching the finer arts of tea drinking
- Demo and hands on opportunities throughout the day using a 6 foot deep hollowing bar
- Demo's of a local engineer's hollowing set (they work great for small to medium hollowing applications)
- Demo's of carving (Powered)
- Exhibit of new woodturning products coming on the market
- Wood will also be available to purchase at very reasonable prices.

Please let me know via PM or post here if you are intending on coming for catering purposes. The day starts at 9am.

What are the logistics for the day?

The shed's clean, Dave is set up with burls to carve, I'm setup with chisel handles and a big vase to be done.

The big hollower will be set up in the morning as will Gerald be with his hollowing tools.

It is all looking good for a day of lies and bull ####.:D

Thank you to the Gold Coast Woodturners for the day, it was great, the first time I have had a chance to get on a lathe in 7 months.

More pics shortly, I have a WIP of the large hollowing tool process.

Thanks Todd and the Gold Coast Woodturners for the weekends demo day, and particularly to the high quality demonstrators. Thoroughly enjoyable and informative.

What a top group of woodies and what an excellent club facility. Thanks too to the masterchefs manning the barbeque.
