not to sure what the timber is:?,...i received the blank for a birthday present
it's a pity that the type of timber was not included
it has lots of figure and birdseye markings

I like the timber and it is well turned, a nice bowl. I like the black line on top of and under the rim. The inside profile is excellent but the little bulge under the rim is a bit out of place. Not real sure about the bead at the bottom. Personally, I would leave them off all together and let the outside profile compliment the inside. Still a nice bowl and looks well turned and finished.

Very nice :2tsup: I'd like to see it with just the smaller bead on the base out of curiousity but it still works

smifii, very nice work and if you don't know the timber you can send me some and I'll turn it for you and we figure it out.:q
Beside these, I like the shape and I have to agree with the guys above that the bead at the bottom litlle over bears the design:doh:. The shape of the bowl down to the base is very fluid until it hits the base. Had you shaped the bead little smaller you would probably had it just right. All together looks very nice. I wish I could make that tree grow in my area.:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:
